The Eating Disorders Clinic
The Eating Disorders Clinic is the oldest and largest part of MCCAED. From humble beginnings as a single clinical research team in the 1980s, we went on to pioneer the development of Maudsley Family Therapy: an internationally recognised first-line treatment method for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and related eating disorders in children and teens.
We continue to nurture a close and dynamic interface between excellent clinical care and research that pushes the boundaries of scientific knowledge. Throughout our history, we have continuously used our research findings to innovate, evaluate and expand our treatment catalogue. Our internally-developed therapies include MFT for anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, parent groups, ABFT and RO-DBT.
